Cruden Bay Golf Club (Championship Course)
It is claimed that golf was played in the village of Cruden Bay as early as 1791. The original course, on the present site, was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) following the expansion of the railways at the end of the 19th century, designed by Old Tom Morris of St Andrews, and opened in 1899.
Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience – old fashioned links golf at its best – on one of the best links courses in Scotland, and in 2015 was placed at No 52 in the world by “Golf Magazine”.
We are a warm and welcoming club that caters for both members and visiting golfers from across the globe. Our experienced pro shop staff, first class bar and catering staff and the club’s administration team ensures a warm welcome and promises that your day playing golf at Cruden Bay will be one to remember.
Our Golf Course creates unique challenges demanding the skills of power, placement and fine judgement upon the discerning golfer. Set against a backdrop of subtly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views, our course truly justifies its position as 54th BEST COURSE IN THE WORLD in the 2013 US publication Links Magazine. 70th IN THE WORLD in the 2013-14 Golf Digest Top 100, and the Golf World Magazine voted us in 2012 the 2nd Top Fun Course in Great Britain & Ireland.
In November 2015 we were presented with the Scottish Golf Tourism Award for the top Course in Scotland – high praise indeed! In July 2013 we were awarded the position of 29th in the world from the Golf Course Architecture magazine, by over 240 golf course architects from 28 countries.
We will ensure that your visit to Cruden Bay will be a most memorable one.
