Golf was originally played at the current site of Old Padeswood Golf Club over 100 years ago. The current club was established in 1977 and increased to 18 holes in 1985. The Club became a members club in April 2016, and is now "run by the members, for the members".

The course benefits from being in a tranquil area with an abundance of wildlife, many varieties of birds of prey can be seen flying over the rolling and open parkland course.
