The par 5 4th, although relatively short in distance is more often than not played into the prevailing westerly wind so you’ll need that extra stroke to make it safely onto the green. After the short par 3 5th, you make your way back towards the clubhouse and there are two tricky par 4’s to negotiate before you end the front nine with the par 3 9th, an uphill shot towards an elevated green and not the easiest to par by any means.
The Back Nine of the Championship Course is set mainly on the inland section of the course and opens up with a relatively gentle uphill par 4 onto a wide fairway and an open green to aim for. After you’ve completed the hole, be sure to visit the halfway shack for some much needed refreshments. What then follows is a back nine that consists of 7 par 4’s a par 3 and a par 5. The fairways may be wide and quite forgiving but there are plenty of bunkers and nearby gorse bushes to catch the odd stray shot.
