Located at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba on the Sinai Peninsula, Taba Heights Golf Resort offers the area’s newest and most prestigious championship golf course. With the Sinai mountains providing a dramatic backdrop, the course overlooks the azure waters of the Red Sea and affords impressive views of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Designed by John Sanford, the 18-hole championship course measures 7100 yards (6450 metres) and is well suited to test golfers of all levels, as each hole offers the option of five different tee placements.

The first hole gently eases toward the vast mountain range which sets the scene for the first six holes. The sixth hole in particular is a long uphill Par 5 with three separate playing areas. From the seventh tee, the course meanders through desert and rocks back down to the splashing water of the Red Sea. Hole 12 is cradled by the mountains and is the feature hole of the back nine, challenging guests with careful placement of ten bunkers, while at 640 yards the monstrous 14th is the longest championship hole in Egypt. The green of 17 and the tee of 18 lie less than a small pitch from the water’s edge.
