Greenhorn Creek Resort

  • 711 McCauley Ranch Road
  • Angels Camp, California 95222 United States

A destination resort in Angels Camp, California, where Mark Twain wrote his famous tale, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog" during the latter years of the California Gold Rush. Established in 1998, Greenhorn Creek also sits at the center of the Calaveras wine region consisting of 35 local wineries.

Lodging at the resort includes a resort with 200 luxury condominiums, a village of cottages for rental and the Caddy Shack, a group (up to 12) lodge adjacent the 9th fairway. Robert Trent Jones, II redesigned this 18-hole, par 72 course while carefully preserving historic artifacts from the gold rush and protecting 100-year old oaks.

CAMPS Restaurant, with a Chef who is a classically trained alumni of the San Francisco Culinary Academy, is renown for serving locally-grown beef. Guests from all around the world can take advantage of visits to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite Valley or a forest of giant Sequoias from their base in Angels Camp and golfers can also experience nearby Saddle Creek Golf Resort, another award-winning 18-hole course during their stay.
