In the summer, colonies of Arctic Terns nest by the shores of the 12th -14th holes. It’s quite an experience to get so close. Birds such as Eurasian oystercatchers, European golden plovers, White wagtails and many others reside by the fairways of Hlidavollur.
Hlíðavöllur is one of the top golf courses in Iceland, and regularly hosts the biggest tournaments in Icelandic golf. In 2020 the Icelandic Stroke play Championship was played at the course.

The pro shop staff was amazing. We were a group of 6 and needed rentals. They made sure our groups went out back to back and made the experience very positive. The course was challenging and the views were great.

Rental club set was too basic (without wedges), which made the short game around greens very challenging.
