    Doha Golf Club (Academy Course)

    • West Bay Lagoon
    • Doha, Qatar

Doha Golf Club boasts an 18 hole Championship Course, a 9 hole Academy Course, an enourmous driving range and putting green, 8 artificial lakes, graceful landscaping and a beautiful clubhouse designed in old traditional Arabic style, which has been located at one of the highest points on the course giving it a magnificent prominence.

The Academy Course is less demanding and can be played by beginners, ladies and those who want to play a quick nine holes. The fairways are larger, the holes are shorter with less hazards and generally the course will allow the not-so proficient golfer to enjoy the game and the good golfer will have the opportunity to have an enjoyable round during a short break from the office.

Single player playing through our foursome slowed play down for us. Single players should not be allowed during busy weekend times.

The online reservation system failed me. I had booked a particular tee time. Then received a call back in about 15 minutes after reserving it, to change the time since it was not available. Once I got to the course and went to the reservation desk to pay they told me I had been moved to later time slot. After expressing my disgust on the reservation system they moved me back to the time discussed over the phone.

Once on the course we were rushed by the greens marshal even though the group behind us was lagging several minutes behind us. Not a good experience this time around.

it is a bit shorter course.

If there were 36 pars, it would be so wonderful.

Some parts of the fairways (fairway 9) are still not in good shape after the Januarys golf tournament.

The Condition of green and fairway is good.

But, each course is a bit short except hole 9.

Course In good condition and promotional green fee made it good value.  The academy course is still a good test of golf and 9 holes is very enjoyable on a warm day.

Couple of greens too sandy (holes 3, 7 and 8)

Some fairways still very inconsistent (4, 5) or in repair (9)

Bunkers not always raked up by preceeding players
