Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club

Mostly Clear
-°C Today, Forecast: -
Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club is the visionary dream of His Highness Sayyid Kais bin Tarik Al Said, completed in December 2009 and opened in January 2010. Designed by Paul Thomas from internationally renowned Dave Thomas and Associates. The golf course has the privilege of being the first par 72, 18 hole championship grassed course in Sultanate of Oman. The course is built on what was an open expanse of land with undulating hills and natural wadis, specific detail went into sculpturing and landscaping the golf course into the natural contours without disturbing the natural wadis terrain and is a prominent feature players experience during play at Muscat Hills. Residential villas and apartments are strategically designed and built to fit in and align themselves with this ITC project adding value to investors and offering a life style second to none. The golf course offers distant ocean views and on beautiful clear days a back drop of the Hajar mountain range in the distance a relaxing feature whilst playing on world class Princess 77 Bermuda grassed fairways and generous and expansive Bermuda Tifdwarf greens offering a golfing experience that make you want to come back and play again.

Muddy areas with no cart path at tee boxes.  Fairways in rough shape.  Greens inconsistent quality.

Nice golf design but not in a good condition greens and fairways not at the level ... The price of the green fee are divided by 2 and the welcome from the team are really great  I think they need to change completely the grass of the course in comparison with the others course in muscat the are really below

Only because a few of the greens had a few earthy patches on them, otherwise the greens were very good, the ball rolled nicely at a good speed.  Very good layout.

Compared with the two other courses Ghala and Almouj, Muscat Hills is not that well maintained -fairway & greens but also another Gras type - and was disappointing at the beginning. But with playing you noticed that the layout ist very fair and generous. Good scoring is possible and after all a good experience.

This is a good course that is need need of a little more maintenance. More than once, I lost a ball in the rough, although it was almost in plain sight until the last moment. Also, caddies need to be provided at a reasonable rate for visiting golfers who may find it difficult to understand the layout of the course the first time. There were no maps of the course available, and no information either on the scorecard or at the tee boxes. Still, I had an enjoyable round overall, mainly due to getting a volunteer caddie midway during the round, as it was a slow weekday.

The course itself is great, but it's not currently being fully maintained so the grass on the fairways and tees is quite long. The GPS in the buggies also doesn't work and apparently hasn't done for a long time.

Allot of potential from this course. Excellent course design. However, Maintence knocked down rating. Poor fairway upkeep (significant grass clippings). Cart provided needed new brakes/tires.
