We’d never played at Cranleigh before so didn’t know how to navigate, be good if there was more course plans. Unfortunately the 4 ball in front of us were v slow and didn’t let us through. It took 4 hours to get round and could have easily been 3hrs. Waiting on 15 holes for group in front.
Shame the kitchen closed by 4 as we we’re planning on eating afterwards.
Apart from that a nice course.

Drainage not great but understandable given recent weather. Also 1 hole closed & 1 temporary green. Practice and clubhouse facilities great though.

Booked on line but course was closed on the day. Obtaining a refund was not straightforward as it should be in such circumstances and took over a week. When eventually rebooked however the experience was very pleasant and we had the course largely to ourselves. First tee is disconcertingly close to the entrance road and a very tricky par 3. However I would rate the course good, especially for the time of year.

Holes are good, but tee boxes a bit sandy and greens not 100%. Tees are also a little vulnerable from the last hole.

Very busy stuck pedestrian four balls involved in completion

Greens in a good condition, fairways not so much as everywhere because of the draught

The course was generally poorly kept, beside the difficulty with the heat at the moment. Two holes were without flags, bunkers were rocky not sandy. The other huge problem I had was the unfriendliness of a group of older players on the course. As many young players are, unfortunately I was subject to an unwelcoming and snobbish attitude by some older players for playing on ‘their’ course when they should be supportive and encouraging to the next generation of the sport and membership. It is a shame Cranleigh now falls into this group of unwelcoming clubs out of the many I have played at.
