    New Kuta Golf

    • Jl Raya Uluwatu, Kawasan Pecatu Indah Resort
    • Pecan, Jimbaran
    • Badung, Bali 80361 Indonesia

New Kuta Golf, The Great Links Challenge! – Only 20 minutes driving distance from Ngurah Rai International Airport, New Kuta Golf is located in Bali's Southwestern region of Pecatu and set on an 85-hectares plot of prime coastal land. Only in its second year of existence, New Kuta Golf was chosen to host the Indonesian Open 2009 and like his peers, winner Thongchai Jaidee - Thailand's undisputed golf icon and multiple-winner on the Asian and European Tour - praised the course for its challenging character.

The front nine plays in-land and navigates away from the clubhouse into an area where many Kapuk (Kapok) trees are the predominant feature. The hole 6 is named after the course's principal architect, Ronald Fream who says; "Hole 6 is our standout par 3. We had ample space to be different. This large space allowed the use of expansive alternate teeing surfaces, and a vast area of intimidating sand." This is a unique hole in that the large, island green is completely surrounded by a broad swath of sand.

A classic par 3 delightfully set with the hills behind. Feel free to visit the "The Bunker" halfway house at the tee for some refreshment. In the back nine, the par 3 hole #15 "The Cliffhanger" is New Kuta's signature hole. The sound of crashing Indian Ocean surf way below the green adds to the overall drama on this hole. The tee box of hole #16 looks out on Balangan Beach to the left. The elegant par-5 18th finishes (as does the 9th) just a few yards from the shaded patio serving New Kuta's magnificent clubhouse, where the formidable Links Restaurant & Bar (and the club's dedicated spa) make it an ideal place to relax after the round.

This new course has won many awards in recent years as Indonesia’s and Asia’s leading golf resort for it’s outstanding maintenance, resort and impressive golf course. The course was carefully designed by Golfplan, combined of Fream, Dale & Ramsey, who have been planning and designing golf courses since 1972. Thanks to them that New Kuta Golf began its operations in May 2007. It is wonderfully design and the original contours of the land are still preserved.

Course is advertised as a links course...there were two holes on the sea.  The starter then gratefully allowed two foursomes ahead of us on the 10th hole as we were about to begin our back nine.  Definitely not worth the 2.1 million rupiah.  will not be going back.

Course looks very tired and too much building work going on at once.

Just a great experience to hit off your choice of challenging tees and sweet fairways onto receptive greens with challenging undulations. And the caddies are indispensable (and greatly appreciated} in course management and green reading skills.

As for the cliffside views, they are spectacular.

Course was in very good condition. Caddies were excellent. Bunkers require attention.

Pretty course, but less so than Nirwana.  Few holes by the ocean. Fairways in pretty good condition but a bit heavy in parts.  Very punitive if you leave the fairway.  Greens were true and bunkers very well maintained.  The clubhouse was lovely. My caddie spoke poor English, but was friendly and polite.  Almost certainly had a ball stolen by a woman in a club shirt doing some maintenance by the side of a fairway.  We saw the ball from the tee hit a tree and drop down vertically into some light rough. When we got there, she was sitting under the tree telling us that the ball had gone into the trees some 30m further on, which it definitely hadn't, and the ball was nowhere to be found.
