Plettenberg Bay Country Club has an 18 hole golf course set in a private nature reserve. The highly rated course ranked 52 in the Golf Digest Top 100 Courses provides a challenge to all handicaps and is a very popular tourist destination. The course is easy to walk, and the 2 finishing holes can be observed from the veranda.

Lush Kikuyu grass fairways and bent grass greens provides golfers with an excellent playing surface, with year round consistency on this parkland golf course. The natural beauty of the course has been carefully retained. Monkeys, birdlife like the Knysna Loerie and woodpeckers as well as the occasional deer are more likely to put you off your game. Despite intense competition from the beautiful white beaches and rolling surf, the club is busy and booking is essential - visitors welcome!

Good course that is heavily played and a bit worn in places. Very tough finish with holes 16 and 17 quite daunting. Buggies that we hired came without water, scorecards etc and a battery that was on empty for the last few holes. Half way was crowded but ok, changing rooms were excellent.

Lovely natural course using features of landscape well. We played with a member who was very friendly and gave lots of helpful tips. A credit to his club.

The course was nearby to where we were staying. Reviews seemed positive. However, considering the cost I think it is overrated. The staff are not particularly welcoming and there are no carts available - apparently you have to book weeks in advance. Buy some more!? Not a patch on Goose Valley which is much better in all aspects of golf experience.

We generally liked the course and the people we met. The outside Gastro could need some improvement.

Too many workers on the course with a lot of noise, no Marshall at the start and therefore trouble.

Quite a nice course let down by admin - check in at pro shop perfunctory. Followed by problem at 1st Tee - two parties with the same tee time. Problem was we had not been advised we were to start at the 10th. There appeared to be no starter at this point - he was actually trying to sort problems on the 10th at the time we were on the 1st - What a shambles - not a good way to start a round of golf. Allocation of buggy also confusing but the guy in charge of buggies was well on top of the situation. Everything seemed to be caused by lack of info at check in.
