Note: the course has re-opened for visitors, with social distancing and Covid-19 safety guidelines The breath taking, award-winning 18-hole golf course, designed by David Dale and Ronald Fream of GolfPlan USA, offers visitors who wish to play the ultimate golf course in Knysna, an unsurpassed golf experience, and rates amongst the best and the most scenic golf courses in the world. In 2001, just a few months after it opened, the course was awarded Best New Golf Course in South Africa. Compleat Golfer has rated Pezula Championship Course a Five Star Golf Experience every year since February 2005.
The Pezula Golf Club offers Clubhouse facilities that are in keeping with the overall five-star experience which includes a lounge, restaurant and bar leading onto a terrace with spectacular views, a proshop, short game practice area and putting green. A smaller private dining room and a separate function room with a bar & lounge are also available. Golf lessons are available from the Club's PGA Professionals.
After rainy days the range was under repair and the bunkers too. We had to stay on the cart path with the carts. So we picked 3-4 clubs and had a walk to the ball to find out, that the right club was still at the cart.
Back in the cart we were told that we are way to slow...
We played the course in 4:50 in a foursome including halfway. According to the computer we had 55min delay..
All this for ZAR 1550 .

The course is stunning and the experience was very positive. Just 3 things that in my opinion have not been in line with expectations.
First, I haven’t found anyone at the tee box. At start you should have someone managing and welcoming the players.
Two, I got stuck in between four balls and spent too much time waiting. You should be careful with that because that ruined my experience.
Third, a course like this should have a driving range too. Having the short game only is a pity.
1. Their pro-shop rate considerably lower than the Golfscape fee - why? I feel ripped off!
2. The course was full and there were not enough golf carts - we started with a broken cart 20 minutes after our scheduled tee-time.
3. A delayed golf cart meant we were left waiting around and unable to hit balls at the practice range.
4. We started the round with a broken cart (no GPS or cooler box) to get going and I had to call the club-house to remind them to bring me a proper cart.
Overall I felt ripped off for the price we paid at a course I felt would offer a benchmark service, common with top golf courses in RSA.
Needs to do better!
