Its history is illustrious as it was opened in 1982 by Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus, Isao Aoki and Bill Rogers. Aoki shot an opening round of 69, which is still the course record today and the scorecards can be viewed in the sports bar.

Old thorns is the most friendly golf club I have come across. Ben in the pro shop has taken the time to call me on several occasions to sort out tee times. I do not know another club that offers such a first class service. And I’ve had memberships at some top clubs including Foxhills, New Zealand and West Byfleet. I’m hoping to get package to join Old Thorns. Everything about the club and it’s facilities is top notch
