Portmarnock Links

Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links is the only beachfront, coastal resort and links golf course in Dublin, Ireland. A classic Links course, the Portmarnock Links encompasses all the characteristics that a golfer seeks when playing Links golf; deep pot bunkers, challenging roughs, and unpredictable coastal wind.

This unique course is a par 71 and measures 7124 yards off the Championship tees. The “signature hole” of the course is the 16th, a par 4 with 419 yards that requires a precise shot from an elevated tee box. This hole has already become part of the dreams of many golfers that have visited Portmarnock and is undeniably one of the most challenging holes on the course.

The round of golf, albeit potentially challenging, is made worthwhile by the stunning hotel amenities. Enjoy a deep tissue massage at the award-winning spa or treat yourself to an impressive three-course meal in either of the 2-AA Rosette awarded restaurants.

Portmarnock Links won the annual Golf Resort of the Year award 2016.

Great course.  Challenging and fun.  Only reason not a 10 is that there was no one on staff until 10 minutes after my tee time.

Course was in excellent shape and challenging but fun.  The people were super nice, both in the golf shop and John the starter.  Great experience.

Considerably over priced. Kileen and Galway Bay courses better and substantially cheaper. We kept this course for the last day of our tour and it was a let down when the price was taken into account.

Too expensive, no refreshments on course, and condition of course did not match the price.  Starter was a wonderful gentleman though and we appreciate the gift bag!

I had played twice the week prior at The European Club and while I felt Portmarnock links was a nice course, it was well below the EC in the terms of the quality and challenge of the course.

We were residents at the Hotel, but booked through the online system available on the Hotel website, only to discover that we were not entitled to the discount offered as hotel guests. We felt ripped off.

We had requested caddies when we made the reservation and when we checked in we were told by the pro they weren’t available … the young man helping us pointed to the screen to show the pro the request was there but to no avail…we did see on the course several groups of new caddies learning the ropes, so understood why we didn’t get one. Loved the course, had fun

It is an extremely beautiful course with very varied holes. The condition of the course and the greens is excellent. But everything had its price (240.00 €)

Course was a typical links course. Caddies need to be arranged in advance and we didn’t know that. This is NOT the Portmarnock Club (more well known) but the hotel links course. Condition was ok and about what you’d expect for seaside links golf. Course guide book for average at best. I’d take a caddie if I played it again. Also, no driving range, just a couple of nets and small short game area. Seems a little extreme to pay $365 CAD (call it $275USD) to play golf without a proper practice facility.
