We are proud of our course, which is finely manicured and carefully maintained to provide high quality surfaces on tees, fairways and greens. We are proud of our course, which is finely manicured and carefully maintained to provide high quality surfaces on tees, fairways and greens. Originally designed by the great James Braid, it is a classic layout around attractive parkland with little walking between greens and tees. It is a course that is easily playable by the occasional golfer, can give great pleasure to the high handicapper and provides a variety of challenges to the very best players.
Afterwards relax in the comfortable, homely clubhouse, either in the casual bar or the lounge, before sitting down to a meal in ‘The Barn’, our historic dining room. This was the original agricultural building, timber framed with a white plastered finish and an open fireplace, dating back some 200 years. Here you will sample great quality home-made food prepared with skill and imagination by our in-house catering team.
Our Professional’s Shop has one of the most extensive ranges of equipment and clothing in the area. Our PGA teaching pros can also be booked to tune up your game or your people can just do their own practice on our six bay driving range, nets, short game area or putting green. The journey home should not too tedious as we are conveniently located on the edge of town with good links to all points of the compass.
