Fairways are still gently rolling and flanked by undisturbed century-old cypress trees: all the greens have been expanded in size to feature undulations acceptable for much faster roll – some greens have now been bulk-headed for a truly spectacular visual effect. Cart paths now run the length of the course, tee to green, and water comes into play on 13 holes. #16 is a real challenging par 3 over water to a large, bulkheaded green – tough!
Clifton, Ezell & Clifton, Golf Course Architects. With a motto that reads “Championship Success by Design”, it’s easy to see how the group that designed our Cypress Course has risen to the top of their game in the course design industry. We’re honored to have a complete redesign of our Cypress Course managed and executed by Clifton, Ezell, & Clifton (CEC) Golf Design Group. The have over 75 years of experience and we’re so glad they applied their considerable skills to our beloved golf course.
CEC has also helped Stonegate Golf Club with integrated pesticide management so that we can continue to be a steward of the environment. The beautiful natural surroundings and wildlife of Kissimmee are, after all, part of what makes Cypress Course so visually stunning. CEC also advises us on best practices for golf courses and we were delighted to take advantage of their considerable experience with horticultural issues that face golf courses today.
