The course has been designed and built in sympathy with a traditional Links Course. It features large greens and tees alongside undulating fairways. The subsoil at Southern Valley is predominantly chalk which, provides excellent drainage conditions year round. The tees and greens have been built to the most modern specifications and ensures that no temporary tees or greens are used any time of the year.
From when the course was first established, over 30,000 Gorse and Broom plants have been imported and planted on the course. As the course is young, the landscaping still needs time to mature. However, our sympathetic planting means that as the course matures it will continue to enhance the feel of this seaside links course.
Since opening in 1999, improvements have been made throughout the course to include the addition of new bunkers and four new back tees as well as our new club house. This is all part of our long term plan to improve your course.
