The Akureyri Golf Club was founded in 1935. Over the years, the golf course has grown to become a challenging 18-hole championship course, measuring more than 6,600 yards in length. This unique course is in a natural setting and provides a lovely view of the surrounding countryside.

Currently the club has some 800 members, most of whom participates actively in local golf tournaments and affiliated social events. The club has up-to-date facilities for it's events. The Akureyri Golf Club offers memberships to golfers from outside Iceland. Every year the club hosts its biggest event Arctic Open, it’s a midnight golf tournament which attracts golfers from various countries. Akureyri Golf Club has one of the top golf courses in Iceland, and regularly hosts the biggest tournaments in Icelandic golf. In 2016 and again in 2021 the Icelandic Stroke play Championship was played at the course.

Very nice… but… do not pay for a golf cart because they do NOT have them LOL all they have are push/pull carts. If they DO have them… they are hidden somewhere. LH Rental clubs were a 5/10.

I really enjoyed playing here. The course was in very good condition, and the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful.
