Originally closed in 1987, the Solid Waste Authority and Palm Beach County began construction of this unique facility in 2004. Topping 85 feet at its highest point it just may be the highest golf experience in the County, and while heaven and earth was not moved to build the course, over 645,000 cubic yards of fill was imported to create contours and cover the specialized irrigation system. The golf course which was opened to the public in March of 2007 has not only received engineering and environmental awards, it has also been certified by Audubon International as a cooperative sanctuary.
