Montgomerie Links Vietnam

Mostly Clear
-°C Today, Forecast: -
Montgomerie Links is located midway between Hoi An and Danang, Vietnam's vibrant third largest city. It is just 15 minutes drive from Danang International Airport, which is serviced by direct local and international flights.

Life and style go hand in hand at Montgomerie Links. Residents are surrounded by one of the most beautiful golf courses in Asia, and the unique Central Coast location is ideal with abundant recreational and cultural attractions all within easy reach.

Eight-time European Order of Merit winner and 2010 Ryder Cup-winning captain, Colin Montgomerie, designed the beautifully presented links-style course. It was the first - and remains the best - of the new courses to be created in the Central Coast area and the accolades have already started to grow. The 2012 Forbes Travel Guide rated Montgomerie Links as one of Asia's ten most elite courses, and it recently won a prestigious Asia Pacific Property Award.

Acclaimed by local and visiting golfers alike, it is challenging enough to test the best players, while being eminently playable and enjoyable for mid and higher handicappers.

The 2012 Forbes Travel Guide rated Montgomerie Links as one of Asia's ten most elite courses. It has been designed to capitalize on its close proximity to the warm, tranquil East Sea and famed Marble Mountains, which are clearly visible from various points on the 18-hole course.

The over-arching design philosophy behind all of Colin Montgomerie's designs is to work closely with natural characteristics of each site. Montgomerie Links Vietnam has many truly outstanding natural features. The sandy soil, wind-blown dunes, and indigenous vegetation combine to create the framework for a very strong links-style golf course that caters to players of all abilities and is a sheer delight to play.

Although the course doesn't officially have a signature hole, the stunning par-5 12th is truly memorable. Playing slightly uphill to a bunker-riddled fairway, the hole is framed by the clubhouse in the background and has been described as the best par-5 in Vietnam.

After using the golf course in question, I am sending this message to you. In a word, it is the worst golf course. It rained a lot on the day, so I went to cancel it. By the way, she said it was possible on the basis of golf course, so I waited. However, there was confusion as each person in charge was wrong from the check-in system. I thought it was raining a little, so it was impossible to cancel. So I told me to start.   Heavy rain came and the cancellation siren went off in the third hole. And if it keeps raining after 15 minutes, we will cancel the rest of the hall. But after 15 minutes, she asked for another 20 minutes, so she tried to move to the car after collecting golf bags due to the rain. I'm checking out, but I'm going to have to ask you to have a rain again. It's said that it can never be cancelled. I understand that returning the golf bag back at the golf course was agreed to the cancellation, and I changed my clothes, but I don't understand why people are telling me to play it again because it will rain less during check-out.   After talking for 30 minutes, I played it again because it was impossible to cancel, and when the heavy rain came back on the 16th hole, the siren sounded and stopped. Eventually, he could not finish his golf course and ended it. It rained continuously during the play.   The golf bag was so wet that the clubs and clothes were completely wet. Bunker play prevented Caddie from doing so, and most bunkers are like small lakes because of the rain, so if they fall in the bunker, they can't find the ball.   The city of Da Nang had been inundated with record rainfall since the previous day. The previous day at BRG Golf Club canceled because of heavy rain. But they say you should play at the golf course.

Its not a typical links that we are familiar with. The fairway do have patches of "invading" grass. We enjoyed BRG Danang best then Ba Na Hills and Montgomerie comes 3rd.

This was the second time in 5 days that we played on the Montgomerie Links and the course was again in excellent condition. This time the caddies were much better and the weather was again beautiful. However a number of the pin positions (especially at the back of the 1st, 6th and 16th greens) were quite ridiculous, and were set on steep slopes. The contouring of parts of these greens is far too severe. We are competent golfers and have played on many courses all over the world. These factors definitely detracted from our overall enjoyment.

The course in general and the greens in particular were in excellent condition. Sadly the caddies were very average, and need more training.

Good welcoming, kind reception desk, and well maintained courses. But the courses are not that much interesting. Very high cost on weekends.

Beautifully manicured course and a tough one to boot.  You have to be straight which I’m generally not.
