Sentosa Golf Club, Version 2.0

36-hole resort underwent a major redevelopment and is ready for the world stage

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for Sentosa Golf Club. Two major professional tournaments will dot the event calendar in the first three months and the much anticipated Tanjong Course is slated to reopen its doors in March. The finished product will wow members, professionals, and visiting guests alike that should translate into both courses entering the World’s 100 Greatest as ranked by Golf Digest (the Serapong Course is currently 58th).

A staggering $32 million redevelopment to the Tanjong Course has spared no expense to ensure the facility is ready to welcome the next two decades of world-class events and millions of visitors to the exclusive island. The 36-hole resort will remain a semi-private facility with access to both courses, but restricted windows to play on the new Tanjong course. More flexibility to the visitor will be granted on the equally strong Serapong course.

A new way for Chinese and Japanese to book golf worldwide

For the first time, golf enthusiasts from China and Japan can book tee times at over 50 golf destinations in their mother-tongue. We have launched our Chinese and Japanese websites, with more languages to come.

This project came about as a reaction to the high demand of Asian golfers arriving at our platform to book golf around the world. It was clear customers wanted a richer experience in a language they understood. We responded by focusing on the concept of making sure Japan and China could book tee times as easily as English speakers.

8 Why Reasons Snapchat Spectacles are Golf Friendly

You might have heard of Snapchat’s latest product – Snapchat Spectacles which they launched last week in limited quantities through vending machines. If you missed the story, essentially the spectacles are sunglasses with a built-in camera. A button on the side of the eyewear lets you trigger a camera. When you tap it a light will flash and spin around signalling a recording is in progress to let people around you know. You can send the recordings to your smartphone through Bluetooth to post the recordings on your Snapchat story or send directly to your friends through the app. The spectacles come with a chargeable case so you can record an entire day out on the golf course if you desire.

Yas Links: Excellent Links Course Architecture

Yas Links, ranked 46th in the world this year by Golf Digest, truly is a must-play when you come to town. The Abu Dhabi golf course is based on Yas Island and is part of a huge Arabian Gulf entertainment development. On this island, that can be reached by boat, plane or car, is The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Stadium, Yas Waterworld, and Yas Viceroy where many of the UAE’s biggest acts perform in concert.

This world-class championship golf course was designed by Kyle Phillips, also designed Kingsbarn just outside St Andrews in Scotland, currently ranked 69th in the world this year by Golf Digest. The championship course is located on the west shores of Yas Island and includes a 5,750 m2 (57,000 ft2) luxurious clubhouse and world-class, floodlit practice ranges and academy of golf. Phillips transformed the course from desert to links by using two million cubic yards of sand dredged from an adjacent marina to and give the layout the shape and contour, then covering everything with Paspalum turf.
