Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club

    • 141-159 Avon Avenue, Banksia Beach
    • Bribie Island, Queensland 4507 Australia

Pacific Harbour is one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier golf courses located on the beautiful Bribie Island, Queensland. Playing at Pacific Harbour Golf Club should be on everyone’s bucket list as the course is a unique, award-winning, ‘island links’ style 18-hole champion course that will challenge both the champion and mesmerise the social player.

Pacific Harbour chose Ross Watson, one of the Asia Pacific region’s most respected golf architects to design the course. His previous work includes Robina Woods, Palm Meadows at the Gold Coast, Royal Sydney Golf Club and The Vines in Perth.

With 25 years’ experience, fifty courses internationally, and a reputation for crafting exciting and visually spectacular courses, Ross Watson has few peers. Sculpting a memorable environmentally sensitive island links course was Ross’s aim when designing Pacific Harbour.

Water is the central theme of the course and can be seen with many picturesque reflective lakes. Even the clubhouse appears to float over a lake and an aquatic driving range. Ross has cleverly used the wetlands, watercourses and native vegetation in the environmentally friendly and sustainable design, which he calls minimalist turf care principles.

Only environmentally acceptable fertilisers that will not degrade the environment, including the subterranean water table are used. Irrigation for the course is sourced from feature lakes and the underground water table. The plan also ensures that the irrigation water will run off back into the water table and into the lakes.

Ross describes the style of course as ‘risk and reward’ which works well for the championship resort and club golf.

At 6339 metres par 72, from the championship plates the course will present a test and challenge from scratch and professional players. It is also very enjoyable for the social golfer to have a pleasurable round of golf in a beautiful peaceful setting. You may even spot our friendly Emu ‘Eric’ who wanders the grounds and keep an eagle eye on our golfers.

Upon arrival our booking was incorrect ( my fault ) & too the staff not an issue was managed to give us a tee off time that worked. The course was in excellent condition despite the dry weather being experienced. Layout of bunker racks were well lined up something we noticed which showed care for the course. Surrounding areas trim & in excellent shape.

    Great experience overall.

The course was really nice, I'm deducting two points because

    1. There was a bit of confusion in the golf shop about which cart to take

    2. The 19th hole has really limited offering of food to take out onto the course for the back nine.

Overall really nice place. Worth one round at least.

    Course was in great condition.

Handles wet conditions exceptionally well. Very friendly efficient staff. A great burger to top off a great mornings golf. Pity my partner and I had too pay. Maybe we can win next time

Greens are fairly good bar a couple with patches of different grass growing through! Over all nice course very unforgiving I have played there 3 times this week and bunkers could be raked better first up in the morning. Kind Regards Dean

Course maybe slightly improved by some better signage around tee markers. Course in very good condition however some sandy patches where work carried out on some greens. Thoroughly enjoyed day as did my golfing companions.

Very well managed course. Very difficult when not on the fairway. Some very interesting and challenging holes. A pleasure to play and please keep the good deals affordable for the average golfer.

The course is in very good condition and they now have new buggies. Couch is starting to enter the greens which will be a problem in the future. As is the wire grass which is spreading quickly. It needs to be poisoned. My concern with this course is lack of traffic and one day it will close. This is the best and most challenging course in SE QLD.

Course in great condition; greens true and fair; Rough was too long and bare in places though. Great course - A true test of golf. Loved it.
