The first two opening holes presents a good indication of what challenges lie ahead, going out in 35 the front nine are tree lined with well placed bunkers. As the golfer reaches the top of the seventh hill they are greeted by a breathtaking view of the Lough and the fantastic new clubhouse. The inward nine consists of drier and more undulating fairways, reminiscent of a links course finishing on the 18th green beside the clubhouse where hospitable staff are waiting to greet you with open arms at the 19th!
Massereene Golf Club was established in 1895. At 6,603 yards off the championship tees, the course is popular with societies and golfers of all standards and abilities – from beginner to competitive low-handicap golfers.
Equally the narrow fairways and small greens place a priority on accuracy rather than distance, making it a rewarding test for even the scratch golfer. With lush fairways, medium to fast paced greens and spectacular views of Lough Neagh and neighbouring counties.
Massereene Golf Club is a fantastic challenge and a wonderful day out for golfers and non-golfers alike.
